We're no strangers to weird skin rashes in this house. Now, Kendall is showing off her talent for showcasing blotchy red spots. Mommy is kind of partial to her smooth baby skin, so off to the doctor we went last week.
The red spots (dry and flat) showed up only on her arms and legs, just prior to our trip to Hawaii. The spots have darkened and increased in number and area in the two weeks since. Because they didn't seem to be bothering her, and were not present on her torso, our doctor thought this was a case of Gianotti-Crosti Syndrome, which would heal itself with no treatment in 2-8 weeks.
As I've been rocking her to sleep the last few nights, I've observed her scratching any exposed skin (mainly on her calves and wrists) causing the rash to bleed. She is also developing spots on her torso, which would mean that it is NOT the syndrome originally diagnosed. Hopefully our doctor will have some answers when we go back today.
Poor baby.

Oh my goodness!! Poor Kendall!! Reminds me of the time Catherine reacted to an antibiotic. She looked so pathetic. Hope the doctor figures it out quickly!
Jamie i hope they figure out what kendall has soon, poor girl.
Has she had or have a problem with diaper rash? My son had something similar to this that spread all over, Dr. didn't know what it was, but when I spoke to another dr he said that it was the diaper rash that caused a systemic reaction. Used a special 3 medicine combo cream and it went away. My poor son had to suffer through it. Still have pictures of it...pretty bad. Hope she feels better.
My 11 month daughter seems to have developed similar bumps and Pediatricians have diagnosed as Gianotti-Crosti Syndrome. If would immensely help me and many others if you tell us what was the actual cause and diagnosis in your daughters case ?
