Great Is Thy Faithfulness

When is the last time you read these lyrics and really absorbed their truth?  I have highlighted below the phrases that have encouraged me lately.  Seems like this song has popped into my head many times lately, and I don't think that's a coincidence.  Whether it's a time for blessing for you, or a time of trial, what a wonderful reminder of God's ever-present faithfulness from the ol' Baptist hymnal...

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

"Great is Thy faithfulness," O God my Father,
There is no shadow of turning with Thee ;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not

As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

"Great is Thy faithfulness!" "Great is Thy faithfulness!"
  Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
    "Great is Thy faithfulness," Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow
,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
May you experience the peace, strength and hope of God's great faithfulness in ABUNDANCE today!

We knew we wanted a hymn as part of our wedding music and this is the one we chose. We've never regretted that choice simply because of the truths it contains. For me, it will also be part of my funeral music. His faithfulness is great, beautiful, poetic, and just. Love defined with an amazing brushstroke.

Thanks for posting this reminder!

Over the years I have been so happy I grew up with the hymns. I have taken, in times of encouragement needs, to going over in my head, word for word, the first hymn that pops into my mind. It is amazing the words I have "known" all my life, but that now, when I need, really speak to me! Rosa
