Agreed. It's a thin MacBook with less capability. If they really wanted to make it an ultra portable awesome computer they should have shrunk it in all dimensions. Something like an ultra-thin version of the old 12" PowerBook. THAT would have been something worth buying.
At this point it's schizophrenic. Does it want to be ultra-portable? Does it want to be full-sized? It's like they gutted it to make it a small computer, but only went halfway in actually shrinking it.
but your better bang for buck is with the macbook or spend just a tiny bit more (than the macbook air) on the macbook pro (even refurbished it's similar priced)...
Both macbook and pro are fairly compact, good looking, much more powerful and many more standard features.
On a technical note, the improved touchpad with more multi-touch capabilities and the engineering / miniaturization that went into producing that laptop are both quite impressive.

yeah, it only has one usb port and no cd/dvd drive.
